On brand charts

When you insert a chart, the six theme colors of your Office themes are used for the first six data series.
But a lot of formatting still has to be done manually.

Colors

Starting from the seventh data series, PowerPoint 'makes up' colors for you, derived from the accent theme colors. We can assure that on brand colors and tints are used.
By the way: wouldn't it help if you create a data series 'Other' if you have more than six series?

An Excel file with example charts

Creating an Excel file with example charts can help. KeySlides has a special folder where you can save this file.
If a file is present in this folder, the KeySlides tab will display a button to open the file read only, so you can easily save a copy and update it with your data.
Settings like the width of the chart – which determines the font size when you paste the chart in Word or PowerPoint –, colors of data labels, position of legends etcetera are saved in the example chart.

Chart templates

Example charts have a downside: if you delete an element and the add it again, PowerPoint defaults will apply. For example, text color of data labels will almost always differ from what you want.
In these cases, so called 'chart templates' can fix a lot of these issues. We are happy to explain what they are, how they can help and what is necessary to create them.

Excel add-in

Unfortunately, even chart templates are not a cure all. If you encounter issues that cannot be solved using example charts or chart templates, we can look into developing an Excel add-in to support creating on brand charts.
